Our young heroine has it tough... She has to travel the world as the (male) hero of legends who will once and for all vanquish the darkness, facing the high expectations of kings and paupers for her to bring the ultimate salvation. Fortunately, she has her three loyal companions: the Soldier, with her years of battlefield experience, the Pilgrim, with her understanding and caring warmth of heart and the Fighter, with her spiritedness in both martial arts and character - those who will stand by her side on her long and enduring journey.

Playing Dragon Quest III on NES right now, as you can see, with an all-female party, which is pretty neat since it adds these quirky scenes to the game where random NPCs spot the "hero's" actual gender and spout out some sexist 'you're just a girl!' stuff. that's what made my heroine unique to me, as my imagination ran wild and I found her not only facing the darkness of the demon lord, but also the darkness in people's hearts. I like it.
